My goals for this page are threefold:
1) To make it easy to identify the requirements and how they were met. So I copied off the
requirements from Prof Cassel's website and listed them at the start of the page along
w/appropriate links.
2) To showcase my work accomplishments within the context of the remainder of the page. I feel
that a table format lends itself well to such a resume.

Programmer 6/03–8/03.

Provided technical support to customers in order to resolve implementation issues with WinWedge
program. Wrote custom macros to interface between TALtech’s WinWedge software and client Excel
and Access databases. Maintained company website.


Gate-1 Travel

Software Engineer 8/02–3/03.

Performed upgrades and enhancements to client/server and web applications developed in-house for
inventory control and processing of travel reservations over the web. Modified Visual Basic
inventory control application to handle city zones and third-party suppliers. Modified associated
database tables and views. Upgraded Gate-1 web site to allow immediate authentication and
processing of online credit-card payments for travel requests. Upgrade accomplished by
integrating Verisign DLL and API with existing Gate-1 web application. Worked on project to modify
Gate-1 web site based on client requirements of Collette Vacations in Pawtucket, RI. Wrote and
modified several ASP pages to access and modify group-based tour information as required by
Collette. Wrote and modified SQL Server stored procedures called by ASP pages. Wrote Javascript
methods to perform client-side validation. Laid off from position due to travel industry weakness
in March 2003. Technologies used include MS SQL Server 2000, Visual Basic 6.0, Visual Interdev
6.0, Javascript, VBScript, ASP and HTML.

Taught introductory programming course to students using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
Development Environment. Reviewed programming concepts, user interface design, branching,
loops, subprocedures and file access. Walked students through numerous in-class exercises.
Class held at Michiana Institute training facility in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Applications Programmer 9/00-12/01.

Worked on a web application to inventory client facilities and track employee assignments for
Crothall Healthcare Inc. Wrote stored procedures in a SQL Server 2000 database. Wrote Visual
Basic methods as part of application DLL. Developed ASP pages in Visual Interdev using
HTML objects and Design-Time controls. Modified ASP pages with VBScript and Javascript
functions. Expanded on existing ASP code to incorporate task lists into a tree display. Designed
security framework for application based on userids and privileges stored in SQL database.
Ported existing Access/VBA application over to Visual Basic/SQL Server 7 for Founders Bank
in Bryn Mawr, PA. Application imports client transaction records using flat files into a SQL
Server database. Wrote import application entirely in Visual Basic. Application includes logic
to parse records in data files, generate it’s own log file of all database activity and automatically
email error records to user-specified email recipients.

Software Developer 11/98-9/00.

Provided development, end-user and troubleshooting support for a period of one year to Lyondell
Chemical Company to assist in the deployment of FCG’s customizations to Documentum’s
EDMS98 application suite deployed on an HPUX10.20/Oracle 7.3.4 platform. Wrote server-side
patches and install scripts using awk and shell scripts for several FCG code releases. Scripts
were also written using Documentum’s custom scripting languages. Ported several client-side
Visual Basic modules over to stand-alone server-side programs as needed by customer. Resolved
several Oracle issues, including missing indexes and table fragmentation. Worked with client to
resolve issues regarding use of custom FCG utilities for bulk import of files to Documentum.

Software Engineer 8/96-11/98.

Served as project lead for the AARP pharmaceutical order-fulfillment system in Horsham, PA.
Oversaw the transition from system-test phase to processing of live orders. Researched, coded,
tested and installed fixes to numerous client-reported bugs. Served as liaison between client and
company, responding to issues/concerns and implementing scheduled software upgrades.
Deployed and maintained an in-house system-test configuration to facilitate testing and
upgrading of application software. Provided on-site support and trained end-users on the system.
Developed multithreaded applications using C++ for other order-fulfullment projects.
Applications guided station operators through various phases of plant-floor operations. All
software was developed for plant workstations running OS/2. Programmed SQL calls to server-
side DB2 database and API calls to client-side Btrieve databases. Software interfaced with
multiple external devices, including terminals, printers and PLCs. Also programmed UBI serial
printers using BASIC to process incoming data transactions to be printed out on labels.

Wrote firmware upgrades in C for 8086-based, embedded scanner applications. Software
processed and manipulated incoming barcode data from Accu-Sort Model 6000 and 4800
industrial scanners. Worked with Code 39, Code 128 and I2of5 barcode formats.


Techmatics

Engineer 4/94-9/95.

Provided technical assistance to the US Navy’s Aegis Techrep in support of the Aegis Foreign
Military Sales Program in Moorestown, NJ. Primary duty was to review technical documents in
order to insure compliance with releasability guidelines. Secret level security clearance held.
